Howard is such a douchebag. The more i know about the guy, the more i see how bad he really is. His best friend is a gay lesbian hairdresser, he has no ability to do anything with anything unrelated to the radio (that's why he hates Leno. Leno is a guy who is good with his hands. Loves cars and can do something other then talk) and other then that does nothing but watch tv with his dumb wife.
Artie was 100% right. How in the world would they be bros??? The guy didn't even watch Arties movies. Probably had 5 chats all together off the air. He's just a soulless user and he used up Artie good. Just look how evil that guy is. Before hi pitch Mike came out, the whole show (Artie and Robin were most vocal) how Mike could be gay, but not Stern. He said, no way. He just has a high pitched voice. Yeah sure Stern. The same thing with Artie. He cared about Artie so much that he did NOTHING to help him. No, Artie is fine. He comes up and does his job... Such an evil user of people.
Now he doest want Artie back because he knows that Artie could "spill the beans" and just say what's clear to everyone.

I also agree that the show itself was not the problem. Sure the spotlight and the burden of a life in the eye of the audience is a factor, but he had bad problems long before the show. They just didn't propel to the heights as with the show, the stand up and everything around him in recent years. It's an extreme life altogether, but the show is a less of a trigger then a late night comedy show with all sorts of drugs and problems floating around and just looking for the host too suck the life out of. Just look at Howard, Robin, Fred, Benji, ok not Benji, but the first three. All healthy people. None of them even go and have an unhealthy evenings. Why even live like that? Artie doesn't even need the stand up shows, especially the late night shows. You can't have a cake and eat it too. Enough is enough. No one should be so money hungry. There are better things for Artie then comedy shows. He should be doing tv shows and movies and he can do that great. people forget that Artie is a pretty good comedic actor. You can talk shit all you want, but he very good. Who cares anyway what some angry troll has to say. I enjoyed his movies and i hope to see many more.

The question must be when is Artie coming back on. It would just wrong if he didn't come back. A call in first would be fine by me, but i hope that one day i will watch howard and Artie will be there for good.

Artie has to take care of himself. People around him have to keep bad influences away and he has to start working on getting back up.

We all love you Artie. We want to see you do good and have a life that you deserve. Being an addict and having problems like this is not who you are. You're so much more. People just get lost sometimes. Most of us do. Just have faith in your self and you will get better.

I too have missed Artie more this week than ever. His gruff personality and hysterical sense of humor made the Stern Show better than I thought possible, and while the team has done a great job carrying on without him, it's just not the same.
I wish I could be assured he's doing well and taking care of himself, but information is virtually non-existent.

Listening to the Stern show this week while they're on vacation and hearing some "best of" stuff with Artie's voice makes me really miss him on the show.

I hope he recovers enough to come back to the show before it ends in December (if it really does end)

I definitely laughed out loud while listening to the old bits, something I've not done for awhile listening to just Howard, Robin, Fred, Bababooey & Benji. While I still enjoy the show, it's a helluva lot funnier with Artie than without!

I disagree with your thoughts that the show was Artie's downfall or that it caused him problems. As we say in AA an alcoholic is an alcoholic; and in NA, an addict is an addict.
It doesn't matter their responsibilities, although sometimes a new responsibility can deter action to the real problem. Artie is an addict, an alcoholic, like many of us. His position in the public eye makes it more difficult to deal with that, but that is an ordeal that is difficult for anyone. Period. It doesn't matter what a person's occupation is, addiction is addiction, and only another addict can truly understand that.

I couldn't disagree more with your assumption that Artie won't return to Stern. First, Artie attempted suicide once before while working on MadTV. The Stern Show is not the reason he tried to kill himself. This isn'tbased on my opinion but on what Artie has said about the show in the past. Namely, working on the Stern Show has given him a reason to get up every morning and do something that he loves. If anything it's Artie's stand-up on the road that has caused problems. This is where he was introduced to heroin, and this is what he has said has Bern difficult to manage--life on the road. If Artie was leaving the show, I believe he would have already told Howard and Howard would be looking for a replacement. Howard loves Artie--both as a person and as a contributor on the show. Howard has said many times that he loves working with Artie. I believe Howard has told Artie to take as long as he needs, and that's what Artie's doing. What an addict needs most coming out of treatment is structure, and that's what the Stern Show can give him--certainly better than the irregularity of the road. Besides the Stern Show isn't just a job for Artie, it's family. And Artie needs that support. Artie will come back, And he'll talk about the suicide attempt with the same raw honesty and humor that he's talked about all of his other trials. Fans will support Artie overwhelmingly. The jokes will come once we can sense that he's okay. And yeah, there may be s couple of jerks who call, but Howard will do what needs to be done. He'll walk the line of humor on the show and respecting Artie's situation. I know I'm right. I'll bet you a thousand bucks. Long live Artie Lange.
